8930 CineDash Touchscreen Blocked

I was running on battery a few days ago, and let the battery completely discharge and shutdown the comp, so as to take advantage of cleaning the keyboard without having to take out the battery. So I cleaned everything with a moist cloth, and all around including the CineDash thing which is used with Acer Arcade, but I mainly use it to change quickly the volume, which is very convenient (faster than using keyboard or volume mixer). Anyhow, after cleaning and replugging in I found that the CineDash Interface was blocked, the volume is lit up to full strength, and the mute button is lit up as well, and all that gets pretty hot after a while (but I can still have normal volume control with keyboard up/down keys and volume mixer). I don't believe that I put much pressure on that Interface while cleaning it up, but it is definitely blocked, and there is no way of clearing it from device manager or anything listed anywhere on the comp, since it has nothing to do with that, so am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and what to do about it so that I can use that volume control again, which is speedy and very practical. Perhaps Michelle, you might have a suggestion there with a bit of luck, or anyone who might have had this problem (it also worries me a bit because it gets quite hot after a while)
Any help there would be greatly appreciated,, Thanks in advance
Terry

I personally doubt that the cleaning caused the "blocking" issue of your button(s).

You can try disable the CineDash, restart the notebook. Then enable it again, and restart the comp one more time.

cheers ...

Okay dokay.

Just my other 2 €-cents: I would personally never run my batteries to totally "zero", too big of a chance to ruin a cell.

OK noted for the battery,
Now, I went into device manager, I chose uninstall, and there is a check box there which says uninstall driver, shud i check that box before clicking OK, and then shud I restart the comp, before going to erecovery to enable launch manager again., have I got that right ?

Well done all that, has not resolved the issue, CineDash still blocked, that includes all buttons (Acer Arcade Launch Button as well). Don't know if I could resolve it by uninstalling/reinstalling Acer Arcade. I doubt it ????

Create a restore point, then go with the un-installing/re-installing. Never hurt to try.

shut down, remove battery, remove AC.

press and hold power button for 10 long seconds.

plug the AC in, power the unit and boot to windows.

Is it working? plug the battery in and it should be fine.

If it is not working, I am thinking liquid got below the board and shorted it out. that would probably account for the heat as well.

best of luck.

Hi Michelle, Thanks for reply, it is 2 am in the morning here, so I will try all what u said tomorrow, don't want to start messing with it now. But can assure u no liquid got under the board, cos I only used a very very moist cloth, it was just slightly damp, I made sure of that ! Will give u some feedback tomorrow some time - need a break tonight :-))
Thanks again, have a nice evening !
