WSXGA+ For 4780?

Thread Starter
Since the WSXGA+ screen is soon to be available on the 8790, I'm curious if the same upgrade will be available for the 4780. As I understand it, they're built on the same chassis, and share the same video subsystems.

Not that I don't love the 4780's original display -- I do. But I've been hearing good things about the new WSXGA+ displays, so I'm curious if it'll be an upgrade option.

As of right now they want to keep the WXGA+ with it, but depending on supply and the price difference between the two screens they may switch it over also or offer both. You can still order the 8790 with the WXGA+ LCD, but the LCD is now in such a limited supply we were asked not to put it as an option on our site with the volume we move.

It wouldn't surprise me if a 4780 owner made a request for the swap that they would do it for you to the guidlines of the news I posted.

there is a widescreen gaming forum on the net, a good place to go if you want to know the compatibility with a widescreen laptop. I hate widescreen just for this reason, compatiblity, so im looking into the 5690.
