Guys please help me decide between these 2. The Asus is brand new, the Toshiba is used. The Toshiba has a higher screen res than the Asus (will this be an issue?)

Difficult choice really... If you want more up to date, obviously the ASUS would be top choice... Otherwise, the cheaper would do for you.. Toshiba are hardy laptops, good website... So are ASUS... Toshiba wins on sound - ASUS on video card (but no gaming, so not really a thought)... What operating systems are supplied?

Surprisingly the toshiba is more expensive than the asus buy $50.

The Asus has no OS installed, you will be the one to install it...

The toshiba runs on Windows 7 Ultimate....

I agree with Mr T. The Asus is what I would choose? I don't think WXGA+ vs HD is earth shattering. Also on GPU's? They are the same, 5% to 4570. The naming conventions are twisted to say the least. Is an earlier with a higher second digit better than a lower? Add within a higher 3rd digit? Yea too complicated. As a rule 2nd is SP's and 3rd is clocks. You cannot separate those two as they are intra connected.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info powerpack! I thought that a higher res means better quality for movie watching...

Any other models you may recommend?

I really think Asus might be your best option? I have one. If you do go that path. Get a good reseller? I will mention XoticPC but there are others. I will mention models tomorrow but I am tired buddy.

You know running all these multiple accounts and all?

If you get the ASUS with no OS, I recommend giving Linux Mint a try (its free and won't hurt if you run it off a live CD)....

I am not aware of Asus being sold without OS? That is one complaint some have.
