[OPINION] Acer 5740 - 434G64MN

I am from Romania, so I give you a link inside my country with the specs I need.

What do you way about it? price would be somewhere around $900 at most.

I love the i5, dedicated video and RAM has 1066Mhz, LED display too...

The laptop is quite new, so I didn't find any trusted reviews...

But what do you know about it or about Acer?

Good specs for the price where you are. Acer is good (personal experience here) so what else can I tell you? Being in Romania you should be able to get the automatic 2 years support and warranty, non?

What about those freezing problems, no boot, screen problems.

Are they real or some users maybe not so experienced are installing all kinds of software and then blame the vendor?

De obicei, producătorii nu va vinde laptop-uri, care au negru sau gol probleme de ecran.

The issues you stated can happen to any brands/models. To be fair the majority of them are users issues.

@mb67: "nu va vinde" => "nu vor vinde". restul este bun(The rest is fine).

But don't worry, I know some english :P . Thanks again @qhn. I am not a computer newbie, but when it coes to laptop brands, I must ask for more opinions. I can't pay 900$ for a brand laptop which was built on chinese boat ).

Do you know where are the components made? Does Acer have any factory in china?

I would say that most (if not all) manufacturers have some (or all) of its parts coming from China. The "Made in ..." is an oxymoron nowadays, the end product is what it counts for most consumers.

I have the Aspire 5740 in the US but with the i3 and Intel HD Graphics. I had the freezing issue that u mention, but the latest Intel drivers fixed my issues. No freezing issues after that. I have had no boot or screen problems.
