HD 3870 Drivers?

Sorry I searched on the forum and wasn't able to locate a thread. My apologies if I missed it.

I'm just getting my M17 up and running with updates and I'm looking for the drivers for my cards. The old owner of the laptop told me to use desktop drivers and use Mobility Modder.Net

I've never used this so I wanted to post here and get some other owner(s) opinion.

Could you guys tell me where the best place to get my updated video drivers? Thank you!

Edit: and I meant HD 3870 for the title =P -- Also does anyone know where I can get a car adapter to power this beast while I'm in my car?

Currently running vista 64 until I buy my technet subscription next week. Then I'll be windows 7 64

Alienware should have the necessary drivers for your card. Tried it yet?

I did find that but I wasn't sure if those were the best ones to get being that I just got this laptop. I know with other brands (not neccessarily gaming) but the ones on the site were never good.

I'll download these now. Thanks!

Not sure if this is working as intended, as this is my first time around with these. I downloaded the file and opened it up. MS DOS window opens saying it's installing. bout 30 seconds later it goes away... Not sure if that means it was a mission well done or what.

I just tried to launch Star Trek online and it prompts me saying they are out of date. (Could be just a wierd detection with the game.. not sure.)

So is it working fine now?

ATI leaves the drivers update to the manufacturers. I trust Alienware working on making the driver fitting nicely with the notebook's performance.

Cat 9.12 works with the 3870s assuming you put them through the mobility modder.

If that's the case do I uninstall everything before I install the modified cat drivers?

Edit: Also on ATI's website I can only seem to pull up the 10.1 cat -- sorry for not doing a little more research... I found where I can get all previous catalysts. Do I need to get 9.1 or can I mod the 10.1
