so im burning a dvd, and here, the status bar that shows how full it is, turns red, instead of blue... what does this mean? is this bad?

That means you try to burn too much. Verify the DVD capacity against the files size you want to burn.

I think.

what software are you using to Burn ?

What speed are you burning at, sometimes you need to slow the burn speeds down to get a sucessful burn

I have no issue burning iTunes songs to CD using its own simple burn CD from playlist. Never copy and paste here

I am pretty sure you have to convert the files so Copy and paste will not work.

So has qhn has said use Itunes to burn the CD

i keep on getting the error message, "please insert a blank disk" when there is nothing on it... i am using a CD-RW.
did you erase the CD-RW
try a standard CD-R disk

yes; i formatted it

try using a standard CD-R

I have not used a CD-RW disk in some time but I think formatting it is only used to drag and drop files to it, and not to create an Audio CD for play back on a CD player.
which perhaps is the reason your getting the "insert a blank CD" message

Get a copy of either Nero or Roxio CD Creator and erase the CD, use those programs to make the CD.

so you recommend burning instead of copy n' paste?

and can i use roxio creator de? i am not sure which tool to use...

i have mp3 files on the cd-rw, and i go to play it, and it is just loud static... shouldn't mp3s play on here?
ans why would these files not work on cd-rw, but on cd-r? isn't the difference just that cd-r is not re-writable?

Try using this:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_cdburnerxp/

As far as media concerns you must check and see what type of disks your player can support.

so whats the difference b/w burning, and copy n' paste?
When you copy and paste with a CD-RW disk it more like a disk drive not a CD ROM

The Burn process (in this for an Audio CD) the CD is formatted to be compatible with a CD player along with the Audio files which are converted into a format which can be played on a CD Player.

Copy and Paste does not do any conversion
