Dell Inspiron E1505 - what's it worth?

Thread Starter
Well dell's warranty apparently paid off, but i'm consider using this as an excuse to get a new laptop...so any thoughts on its value would be great

Sorry for the long post, i just pulled some of the info off an ad i am putting together...

It runs Windows 7 great and i have the full (not upgrade) retail win7 pro box set, but i think it would be better to sell win7 by itself and just put win xp media center back on the computer?

It is a Dell Inspiron E1505 highlights below:
Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz (2MB Cache/667MHz FSB)
2GB RAM (upgrade to: 2x1GB Kingston DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz)
160GB Hard Drive
CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) w/Double layer DVD+R write
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Graphic Card
15.4” WSXGA+ Ultrasharp LCD w/True Life (1680x1050 MAX Res.)
Intel Pro 3945 WiFi / Bluetooth / 10/100 Network / Modem
4 USB / IEEE 1394 (Firewire) / 5 in 1 memory card reader / Type IIIA Mini-Card slot
S-video TV out / VGA port
Running Windows XP Media Center Edition

Dell has recently replaced just about every part on this laptop while trying to fix a display issue, took them 6 trips to my home But its like a new computer now
- every plastic piece is new (top, bottom, plam rest, bezel, buttons, etc.), including the keyboard
- motherboard, cpu heat sink assembly, cooling fan, graphics card, speakers
- LCD screen, screen hinges and all the plastic around it
- hard drive replaced and upgraded to 160GB, bluetooth module and AC Adapter

Still has ~80 days left on warranty which includes the Complete Care coverage, the accidental damage plan from dell (Limited Technical Support/ Complete Care/ Next Business Day, Includes Nights/Weekends/In home repairs).

List of parts included:
- AC adapter brand new from Dell (2/11/10)
- 2nd spare AC adapter, generic brand (new on 11/15/09), works great
- 85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Battery (I used as primary battery, still holds about 1 hour charge)
- 53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Battery (this battery is like NEW and is unused)
- Dell Burlwood snap cover
- All original system restore discs, CDs/DVDs
- 1 pair of spare replacement screen hinges
- Tiny portable USB mouse w/USB key
- 10GB - External 2.5” Hard Drive - USB & FIREWIRE (IEEE-1394)
- Cables: ethernet, phone, USB, 1/8” to 1/8” audio, 1/8” to RCA male/female (~25 feet), 1/8” mac microphone, RCA audio, s-video

I would say anywhere between low to mid $300. Don't know how much that "complete care" would add to the value.

cheers ...

Look at your configuration. its worth to keep it as it works without any issue. But sooner or later it would need upgrades. It all depends on how long the your motherboard can run. This is worth more than 400 bucks to keep it. But to sell it, I would say between $240-$260. Good Luck!
