News start to leak out in regards as to what the manufacturers will be introducing at 2010 CeBit in Hannover.

- NVIDIA to announce their ION2, but now named as ION 2010. This chipset works with the newer Atom – Pinetrail.

- ASUS will introduce its series of AMD 890GX+SB850 boards at the show.

- Biostar with its high performance mainboards H55HD, TA890GXE (GTO 63 on TA890GXE), BIO-unLocking.

I am looking forward to be on site to report more interesting news.

* Fujitsu and the new line-ups:

A great departure from the old plastic look with performance and aesthetic design covering business interest.

This is one of the more boring conferences, but that doesn't mean the announcements aren't important.

I am not sure about the "more boring conference" since CeBit from the beginning is always being crowned as the world's leading event for the digital industry. Maybe the location of the venue is not so appealing as opposed to Las Vegas or San Francisco

The main theme this year convention is based on Digital Classroom and Webciety. Different from previous themes as CeBit 2010 will see innovation for end-users instead of businesses as in the past. I hope to see more of the Open Source solutions brought into the mobile gadgets and the newest and latest from ASUS, MSI and others in PC components and notebooks. Especially the much awaited 3D Notebook Acer Aspire 5740D.

"GT660 shocks the world with high-end sound effect.

In order to present the true effects of ultimate multimedia on laptops, MSI has cooperated with world-leading high-end stereo makers. At CeBIT 2010, MSI will display for the first time the gaming laptop GT660 with built-in, high-end sound effects and the world’s first built-in LED lighting performance. With the high-end sound and exquisite visual effects all integrated on the GT660, users can experience the ultimate sound and visual effects of music, movies and exciting PC games as if they were live! MSI will also display brand new laptops at the show, including the Wind U160 featuring slimness and long operating time of up to 15 hours and the X-Slim X620 in the CULV range emphasizing slimness and ultimate audio and video effects. All this is expected to shock Hannover!"

A long list of exciting news here.

latest winner from this year CeBIT - over 200.000 visitors for the PC Games-Cinéma!

Meaning? A competition where it was being live broadcast in the Hall.

This year Tim Fogarty (Florida USA) came here alone - others play in the 5-man team - and is now in the final stretch for a $20K plus prize.

First time ever I learned that it is not so simple to be a game competitor. A regiment of 6 hrs of training daily, no coffee (doh??), no Fastfood (hmm), only lots of salad (tell that to my Mum), water and fitness. Pain !

We saw no new notebook GPUs other than the current HD5870 in ASUS. Clevo showcases its X8100 which uses the nVidia GTX 285M (alone and SLI Mode).

For PCs nVidia GTX480 was being shown from Gigabyte.

CeBIT 2010 signed off with a win over last year!

CeBIT 2010 ended on 6.Mar with a positive balance from the eyes of the participants. Investment and commitment of over 10 Billion Euro changed hands during the 5-days event (one short from the tradition 6) with 4.157 kiosks - a big drop from previous year. The number of visitors saw an increase from the year before. This is according to the President of BITKOM, August-Wilheim Scheer.

Works are in motion to expand, or shall we say to open, CeBIT structure to cater private users this coming 2011. This would open the door to entrepreneurs that do not qualify as big businesses in the future. This would also take in consideration of new introduction during the year leading up to the convention, as to not turning off enthusiastic consumers.

Tentatively we would see CeBIT to encompass:

- "CeBIT Pro" as it is in current business format
- "CeBIT Gov" where it would concentrate in government products
- "CeBIT Lab" for University and Research
- "CeBIT Life" for consumers

With this expansion consumers would see a clear push toward "Cloud Computing" that currently plays an important role in IT and Media Businesses. This also only makes sense since private usage commands more than 1/3 of the Internet/Electronics businesses.

This also serves as a continuation of this year themes of "connected worlds" where emphasis was on networking and net-communications, in parallel to "Green IT" where energy usage and saving are being stressed. For the later we have seen new notebooks and PCs wich are energy efficient yet still delivering powerful performance.

See everyone next year!
