Got MY Sager 5690!

Hey all
I finally got my Sager today! Woohoo!

Just a few things:
I have 1 stuck pixel :-( Maybe it will go away soon....

Also, the audio is very metallic, is this the case with everyone else, or is it a driver issue? Anyone know any solutions?

The UXGA screen is beautiful by the way,
Unfortunately after only 50 minutes I'm down to 60% power with the dual battery setup. And I've only been doing some light video watching, web surfing, and installations. Is this normal?

Yeah, the battery life seems about right. You might get a few more minutes out of it after conditioning the batteries, but probably not much.

Anyone know about the audio issue?

That's the way the audio sounds. They're laptop speakers, so don't expect much from them. ^_^

In my personal experience with this line of notebooks... the audio was very weak and could barely be heard in a room with some faint noise outside. It was quite frustrating, but well... I guess that is one of the prices you pay for such a powerful notebook.

Congrats! I still have to wait 6 days, 7 hours and 48 minutes before I order mine. It's gonna be the longest week in history

Did you get next day shipping? How fast did they process your order?

I ordered the laptop Tuesday afternoon, through UPS ground shipping.
They sent on Thursday, and I recieved yesterday (Tuesday), so it shipped pretty fast!

As for the stuck pixel, its SO small its barely even noticeable -- only when I'm computing in the dark with a black screen on full backlight. I guess thats the advantage of having 1600x1200 - 1 pixels pulling through for ya haha
IN fact, I'm not sure its actually "stuck" as when I do a screen test and try green it becomes invisible...otherwise its like a small speck of dirt.

So far so good with the laptop -- carrying it around all day is the only flaw as it is noticeably weighted down. Nothing I cant handle though haha.

The audio isnt TERRIBLE, i discovered i had the audio bundled software on the "bass" setting, and that made it worse. When its on the normal settings its fine tho.

Lastly, as I've typed this, the louder fan has only got on twice, and for about 1-2 seconds each time

Next: install some games!!!

I'll make a bigger review soon and post pictures. What an amazing laptop!

PS -- is placing it on the bed or using it from still inside its case dangerous, since the intake is in the bottom? I've been overtold that may overheat it

Yes; however, how many people purchase a laptop for sound quality?

Many would like the idea of enjoying a whole exquisite all-in-one laptop...especially when sound is related where i don't have to plug outside speakers or sound card to get the pleasing quality sound ... for example hp, and toshiba offer them for the consumer to feel like having all perfect ... that's awsome

Since u agree with me they are better, i would definitely agree for harman kardons speakers in sager 8790 .

Just to let you know with the pixel it is possible to have a semi working pixel. The screen I'm typing on now has 2 "dead", "stuck" or whatever you want to call them pixels right next to eachother. However, based on the color they are supposed to be they change to either black and green for the other or both red.

Then you can name then "winky" and "blinky". I know that doesn't help; however, it might provide a bit of humor.

Harman Kardon = wayyyy overrated anyway. Get a good cardbus soundcard and some decent headphones.
