Bios Update Question

I am considering updating the bios of my P-7811FX to accomodate the installation of a T9900 CPU. I have the bios file obtained through this forum via FTP from Gateway link, 9c.17. There are 4 files, one of which is IMV-3564 (WFlash utility x64). I am running Win 7 Professional 64.

Do I assume correctly that the bios is updated from within windows by right-clicking on the WFlash utility and "running as administrator"? I've updated numerous desktop bioses through DOS and through windows, but never a laptop. I realize a botched upgrade would probably require a MB replacement, so I want to take every precaution before I do it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I only plan to do the upgrade if my 9c.05 bios will not recognize the new cpu (and it might).

Yes it is simple as running it within Windows but make sure that the power adapter is being used.

And you don't need to upgrade the BIOS in order to use the T9900.

cheers ...

Thanks and that's good news.
