Asus G73-JH-A1 Just received reliable info

Hi to all,

It really came as a big shock to me today when I called my retailer who has been very good to me and my companies for years started my business in 1981 that my pre-ordered Asus G73JH-A1 is not in. I had their senior buyer or so I was told call direct only to find out there are none, not a one available with the new target date for release as of today being March 31st 2010. I can't believe how long this release has been strung out, misrepresented etc.... I'm so annoyed I'd be willing to buy another brand that offers the same or better specifications providing it's not a thousand dollars more then this one. Please if anyone can recommend a gaming notebook with similar features near the Asus G73 price let me know today and I'll probably buy one. I definitely want a 17" + HD screen, backlighted keys and blue ray d. drive. Thanks to all love to hear your comments

Be patient. ASUS will make the model available in good quantity soon. And stick with this model

With the limited time I had to play with it today at CeBIT, it will be tough to find another machine of that caliber.

cheers ...

RJtech is now selling the Clevo W860CU (15") and W870CU (17") notebooks with the ATI 5870. The only thing missing is the back-lit keys.

Still pre order?

Unless there is some units already floating out there, anything that was being introduced at CES and CeBIT will not see the light until at least April.

This is what I learned first hand at CeBIT talking to the manufacturer reps there.

NW was on top of it again! 3/5 is when they start shipping with ATI.

It's now being offered by the other clevo resellers. On a side note the 5870 that comes with it does not have a crossfire connection. Looks like the x8100 won't be getting these cards.

I finally got my g73-jh-a1. So far I can tell you this is one great machine. It's quiet, very quiet when compared to others I've had. Actually it's shockingly quiet. I haven't gotten to any testing yet but for the general use that I'm using it for until I get in some software I want to add to it in I'll just enjoy it the way it is. The screen is great the blueray is great if my wife is watching some other crap on TV I can watch a blueray dvd with headphones and it's great. I hope all those waiting get them soon and give me feedback with their experiences. I bought mine at J&R and they had 20 come in with few pre-orders. Gday, MarkGee

I just received mine yesterday. I immediately upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Once I've had some time with it, I'll give you some feedback.

When you check on most websites the system is advertised with a firewire port. It doesn't have one. I'm holding the reseller responsible since when I called Asus they told me straight out different resellers order with different options or configurations. So I called brought it to the resellers attention and they are checking into what they can offer me component with software or any possible plug in that will give me the firewire option when I need it. It's really important that what is specified by the resellers as options that come with their version of the G73-JH-A1 comes as represented. I haven't had the chance to play any of the newer games on it yet but I really love this notebook. It's a very powerful piece of equipment more so the my desktop now that I thought was pretty good this G73 A1 version blows it away. It doesn't come with any users manual which I hate and there's none to download of their website either. I would think for the money spent whereas this is by far the best ever notebook for the bucks it should come with a users manual being it's also the most upgradable note with lot's of options to go up to 16 mgb of ram although the 4th dim slot is under the motherboard.
Anyone having received the A1 please keep in touch with me on your findings and was to optimize although the factory has done an exceptional job as is comes out of the box. MY Toshiba Qosimo is officially in repair now for over 3 months should I sue them? My warrantee is up in 2011 and they've held it not having the parts to repair for now over the 3 month period. It's obviously the main reason I bought this new G73 besides the fact I love high tech toys. Need opinions on whether or not I should spent 1grand to sue Toshiba in small claims and try to get back my 2+ grand I paid for their system a year or so ago. I'm not sure if I should do it on principle alone or not. Need lot's of opinions being it had 3 major breakdowns within a 3 month period Jan. 18th and it's still there in their depot. Or since I have the G73 now, do I just eat Toshiba's horrific experience and never buy anything made by Toshiba??? BTW they have an absolute no replacement policy unless it's within the first week or so. Help!

Mark, please don't post the exact same thing in multiple threads in the same forum section. It's not needed and clutters up the forum. Thank you.
