Ideal Laptop -- Does anyone make it?

My ideal laptop is an ultraportable with the following specs:

<4lbs
Non-LV Processor (T9600 or Core i7)
14.1" LCD
NO Optical Drive
4+ hr battery life
...the rest is standard, like RAM, HD, etc...nice to have dedicated graphics, but not necessary.

Basically, this is a 14.1" Macbook Air. Does anyone make such a device?!

I am not aware of any. What you describe would be nice though. It could be made but do not think it is.

No optical drive is a nice touch. I rarely use mine. I also have a 14" but is over 4lbs and 2hrs batt life tops.

The segment you are looking for is geared toward ULV and 10+ hrs batt life.

HP is rumored to come out with a 14" Envy notebook at some point, so that may meet your criteria.

Ah, the T410s with discrete graphics will do it:

Under 4 lbs, 4hr battery life, discrete graphics, Core i5 520M...PLUS, it has a DVD-RW. Not necessary, but nice touch!

fire you need to check that again. The ones under 4lbs are all integrated graphics. The others start at 5lbs so you might be wrong on that. Now since wrong on that make sure the discrete gets 4hrs batt life? You can get an i7 if you want.

I think you need to link I think you are wrong about parts of this.

Oh and this is not a Mac Air by any stretch.

The Dell Studio 14z fits the criteria. Non ULV Core2's 4+gb RAM, long battery life, no optical drive and dedicated graphics. Its slightly over weight though, at 4.3lbs.

The DeLL looks better.

The Studio 14z made it into the thin and light finalist on LaptopMag's best laptops of 2009.
