Hi,
I have a problem with installing xp on my znote 6615wd.after the initial setup screen when formatting the data hard drive and copying windows files to disk the laptop reboots to continue setup after the reboot the laptop screen stays black but the HD activity led continues to flash and the cd continues to operate.why I'd this happening ?.

Missing SATA driver maybe?

i have sata drivers otherwise it will bluescreen, i get past the initial setup but when it reboots to continue setup thats where the problem starts.

You might be able to get past the first part of installation, but at next reboot the drive was probably not being recognized.

Is there a way you can disable AHCI in BIOS or slipstream the SATA driver onto the XP installation disk?

i already done that,i have slipstreamed all drivers including sata,i have even disabled it in bios but same result.i have now managed to install vista but still no luck with xo

Try with another set of XP installation disk maybe?

I would try installing XP on the drive from another system then put it back in the notebook as the next step.
