Are you saying that the desktop display does not cover the whole screen? Check the resolution setting in this case?

You need to go to "advanced" mode in the post, then attach the file/pic.

The answer is likely no. You are talking about the bezel. I doubt for many reasons.

Even if one trims the "bezel" down/out?

I just have doubts it would jump it up to the next size? With out doing the math on a hypotenuse of a right triangle. Going from 15.4 will you get a 17" hypotenuse trimming the bezel? I have doubts but I could be wrong.

OK I was bored a 15.4" 16:10 screen is 13.06"x8.16" a 17" 16:10 is 14.42"x9.16". You would need to be able to remove up to almost .7" from each side of the bezel. And .5" from top and bottom.

That's quite a number to fiddle around with. Might as well to try a complete screen/lid and hope it fits.

If there was an option from Dell for the b130 for a larger screen than sure, but just putting a larger screen would not work since the hindges would have to be the same to fit into the base of the laptop. then there are the issues with cables, and inverters,
