Acer Ferrari 1000 compatible keyboard

Hello everybody
I have a ferrari 1000 and i need a replacement for the keyboard, in spanish.
I can't find one, but i found the one for the travelmate 6293. I know that the keyboard from the 6292 is compatible, but is the 6293?
Thanks!

They look physically the same, cable connector inclusive. It is worth a shot!

Yes, It is worth. But the kb is in Hong-Kong, and i'm in Chile.
Anyway, the vendor assured me that they are compatibles, so i bought it.
I hope it works, and i'll make you know.
thanks again!

Good luck. Check out the stickies in the section for dis-assembly guides if you need it to replace the keyboard.

i think it will work, layout will be different and you may run into special function keys not working.

Hello again.
I have the keyboard, but is not compatible.
If you see it carefully, you can realize that it have an extra "column"
of keys. This fact makes that the 6293 KB is actually 0.5'' wider than the
ferrari's one (f1000; same thing for the 6292, 6291, etc).
So I have the keyboard still in his bag, and i'm selling it.
Anybody interested?
Anyway, i have completely disassembled my kb, i washed it, and it is
working, except by the "x" and the "z" keys.

So, take a note, the keyboard for the 6293 is wider than that for the 6292 and ferrari 1000.

Cheers

Might want to map the "x" and the "z"?

Do you happen to have the pics of both keyboards and share with us?

cheers ...
