Need help with HP DV6654 please

I need to replace the hard drive in my DV6654 and am not sure if it is a 2.5 inch or not. I have not been able to find this information anywhere I have looked. The only thing I know is that it is a wd2500bevs-60ust0. It is 250GB. Can I put a 500GB in it? I have read that a computer may not recognize the new drive if it is too large. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Still haven't been able to find out if I can put a 500GB hard drive in it. By chance do you know or where I would need to look to get the answer?

Sure you can. Try staying with either SATA ver 1 or ver 2.

The hard drive in my notebook is going. I have a 500GB external and have plenty of room still on it. 500GBG will be more than sufficient for me right now. Just want this computer to last another year or so and then will just use it as backup one.

I have never use more than 60GB on all my comps. Most personal data is on external drives
