Xpress 200M graphics ram upgrade

hi all
I have a Sahara AL096 Laptop with ATI Xpress Radeon 200M chipset. when i opened the laptop i found A white slot at the rear side. i saw a similar slot in an old Compaq Pentium III desktop. with ATI Rage XL. one of my friend said that graphics RAM can be added to the slot to increase perfomance..

is it true??

Take a picture of it. I think you are saying your 200m has side ported memory. I know on a mobile not meant to be upgraded could someone do? Sorry I do not know. I can tell you it would not offer much increase in performance because the card is bottlenecked in other ways. It simply lacks "horse power".

That laptop has up to 256mbs of shared RAM (cached from the system).. It is likely the white slot is a mini PCI, or PCI-e slot fro a wifi card or modem...

no it not mini PCI... (a tleast i guess so... that slot is not accessible unless you open the full cover and turn the board upside down.. the colour is white. i saw a similar slot on a Pentium III 440BX motherboard of a Compaq SFF desktop powered by ATI Rage XL(?) and 4 MB of onboard (not shared) RAM)
but i will certainly take a photo next time i open the case....

as for performance i do not want much more i just want to free the main RAM

I'm going to guess some kind of proprietary port for maybe a bluetooth add-on or something similar to that.

If it looks like a ram slot, feels like a ram slot, smells like a ram slot, it probably isn't :P
just kidding.
Im betting it is

Extra ram would only help u at high reses. On the games you play now. Not new ones for damn sure.
