Please Help Me Choose a Gaming Laptop

I know custom made ones are the best and I know desktops are best for gaming.

However I came to the notebook forums to get an opinion and suggestion on what pre-built gaming laptop I should get. I am always on the move and like to carry as minimal luggage with me after all.

I have picked up about 4 different sites that sell something I like. Ibuypower has a reputation of being unreliable in terms of stability by popular belief (they ship out computers that have a broken piece, computers that are missing something you requested) but they do have something that fits all my needs.

But the problem is, I don't want to have to return a computer and go through all that hassle if it is not working properly or is missing parts. So that is a major factor in not choosing ibuypower.

Avadirect: http://www.avadirect.com/product_det...asp?PRID=16097

Newegg Toshiba: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114803

Alienware: http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/alienware-m11x?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn

ibuypower: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Confi...s.aspx?mid=577

What I'm looking for at the least.

Screen: 15 inch screen
Memory: 4+ GB of DDR3 RAM (I can bend a little for DDR2)
Video Card: 512 MB-1 GB (1 GB preferably) NVIDIA or ATI, highest model most likely but could be just a few steps below too.
HDD: 500 GB 7200 RPM no more no less
Optical Drive: Don't necessarily need it but big plus if it has one.
Included OS: Windows 7 preferably
Price: Between $900-1100

I checked comments made by Newegg's purchasers but it almost seem like they're selling second hand items or items that have been returned recently.

That does make buying from them a bit iffy, are they reliable at the least and how come I have to get that Microsoft Office combo deal can't I not take the Microsoft combo deal and have a lower price?

I love the specs and the base price though.

Is that a reliable source as well? Every page of it seems way too cluttered making it look a bit unprofessional. o.0

I am not in the US so cannot use Newegg, but from other forums I frequent, Newegg is well used and well respected and doesn't sell 2nd user goods unless specifically stated... (open box)... Tiger Direct get a reasonable rap, but tend to be pricey compared to Newegg... If you want the right laptop at the right price you do have to consider the seller, but not all are bad, I wouldn't look into it so deeply... Have you looked at Amazon's offerings?

Strange, I found cheaper deals in Tiger Direct compared to Newegg. I haven't checked Amazon yet but I'll give it a try.

Some great deals but because I'm not a super tech wizard I can't tell if they're any better than the ones being sold by a computer market.

Neither of those 2 if you want it for gaming, video card is not 'separate'... Look for ones with ATI or Nvidia based graphics, check the hard drive is 7200rpm and there is at least 4Gb of DDR3, esp if it is an intel i3 or i5 cpu...

I bet they're refurbished.

What makes you say that? Is it the low prices?

With your budget and apparent link to some 13.3 the AlienWare m11x is the best I would say. If you have more budget the IBuyCrap are just rebranded Clevo's. You can get at XoticPC, PowerNoteBooks, Gentech and PCTorque.

How good are ASUS laptop quality?

The 11" is the biggest turn off for Alienware m11x first I thought I could deal with it for a good 4-7 years or more but I think it'd be bad for my eyes and because gaming is important on how the action looks I kind of what a bigger screen. If m15x was the same price I would of ordered it in a heartbeat.

And that 13" actually turned out to be over 1200 bucks after customization.

Yeh. Do you have any links you're looking at specifically?
