Hey guys,

Just bought a SSD CT64M225, it works fine in other laptop but Sager 9750 doesn't recognize it in BIOS either when i connect it by itself or with other hdd. Should flashing the bios help? It's the one i got it with at the end of 2006.

I gotta RMA the SSD if i don't find the way to make it work today

Thanks!!!

You should Update the computer BIOS

Definitely, you should update the bios for your computer if there are newer versions. SSD drives are addressed differently than standard hard drive, I do believe that certainly there will be incompatibility issues with older PCs. For example this is the same case with newer laptops designed to run windows vista or 7 and if you try to install win XP you may not be able to due to missing drivers for some SATA controllers to propperly talk to Drives.

Always consider updates of firmwares when available...

Hope this helps.

Good Idea update BIOS

It is always a good idea to update BIOS firmware when available. Because SSD drives are new technologies older Bios need to know how to talk to them. This is same with SATA controllers newer PCs designed for Vista or 7 proper drivers are built in these OS.

If you try to install XP you may not be able to install XP due to lack of drivers. You can recompile a new set of XP installation including the appropriate drivers for such sata controllers. That is how you would be able to install XP.

Therefore Updating BIOS may help. Good Luck!
