hi guys

I replaced the screen on this FW and installed a OS every thing was fine for a wile then it would act like it cuts in and out then out for good i can see small light blue screen when it turns on , i connected it to my desktop monitor and every thing is fine shows up good ,

could the ribbon on the back of the screen be mis aligned or something , i checked under the keyboard and every thing seems fine there

any ideas on this before i tear it apart again ,

Also i see the wireless button is not working and it states turn on the wireless but with the button not working , how do you go about turning it on ,, must be a physical connection to it ,
any easy fixes with out tearing it down ?
express card would be easy , but screen display comes first .

Yeah, your gonna need to recheck the connections... When you took the old screen out, did you disconnect the lot from the motherboard? If so you may have missed putting the earth back on.... With wifi, reseat the card first, before opening up and checking the switch...

i never went into the Mobo i pulled the key board last night just to check connections , i opened up the screen and every thing (looked) where it should be ,,,but i may just reinstall the screen its easy enough to get at

(With wifi, reseat the card first,)
you mean i can get to the card with out opening the case up ?
I don't have a express card , only the internal wireless ,
any photos of the card and the switch ?

i bought this from a repair shop for 30 bucks along with a gateway 17 inch

OK i striped it down again and the screen connections are all good ,
on the screen its still blue when i have the external monitor hooked up and start the Sony up , i can see where the laptop screen is changing color blue/black /blue
right along side what the ext, monitor is doing but graphics dint show up on laptop

on the wifi case switch its connected to Nata nothing connected to it so who knows whats going on with that , some one must of been inside of it before , but will deal with that once i get the screen working ,

any ideas on the screen and what to test for next , ???

Failing board and/or gpu chip - my opinion.

hmm don't know about that , the lappy works and preforms well on a separate monitor . web cam works every thing all the programs just not on the laptop screen thats dosnt want to show ,

You can try with replacing the LCD inverter first then - cheap and easy.

thats what i was thinking was invertor , find one cheep enough and i will pick one up .
