xps gen 2 video card died

So I'm pretty sure my video card died on my xps gen 2 (nvidia 6800 go ultra) and I'm out of the warranty. I disabled the card and I'm using the integrated video but still have characterizations all over the screen plus its slow. I looked on ebay and it looks like its 300 for a replacement. I read somewhere that there are other less expensive cards that are compatible. Anyone know which ones and where to find them? I don't care about gaming anymore just want to surf the web and watch video.

"bake" the poor thing. We have plenty of ideas here in the section. At least it is worth a try and it might give you what you want - surf the web and watch videos.

anyone know of a compatible card? i thought i read on here before that there's a cheaper ati card that would work?
