Studio 17 Ventilation Problem

Thread Starter
Hey guys, recently my Studio 17 has been overheating and I've been getting the blue screen. I opened the case and nothing seems clogged, the heat sink is in tact and working, and the fan still works. I was looking at the cover however, and there are only three small (and I mean small!) vent ports on it. I was wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket cover with better ventilation? Or if anyone has had the same problem, what they did to correct it. Thanks everyone.

I do not think there is a after market cover, but did you actually remove the fans and clean them out ?

When you do, clean the fins on any heat pipes as well.

Last, since you have it open, might was well remove the old thermal paste and put some real thermal compound on there.

You can always use a drill and make holes??
Sounds more like a fan or bad thermal paste thing tho. Aka. dust.
