How Can I Save eAudio Management Settings

Thread Starter
I have an Aspire 5720. The default mode for the eAuido Management is Movie (which means surround on). When I turn the computer on, I change that value to Music (surround off). However, there is no way to save my preferred mode (Music), and everytime, I have to bother with changing it from Movie to Music.

Is there a way to make "Music" the default mode of the eAudio Management?

Thanks in advance for your answers,

Lisa

Maybe you can try not to use surround audio device in the sounds/audio set up? Hopefully eAudio would stop revert to Movies (default surround) when running. A wild guess.

Thanks for the recommendation. However, the "surround" option is not ticked in the setup. Moreover, the eAudio Management seems to have a priority over the settings. This really is a headache.

From Control Panel, then Sounds/audio - do you have here the possibility of choosing which audio set up (2 speakers, 5 speakers ...) you can have? My take is that by "fooling" eAudio to see only a 2 speakers system it would not keep its default Movies property.

Thank you once again. However, in the speaker setup, there are two options "Front Speakers (Left and Right) and "Surround". The surround option tickbox is already dim and cannot be ticked. Nevertheless, when the eAudio Management is in Movie mode there IS a disturbing surround effect. Especially when listening with earpohones...

What happens if you tick the Front Speakers option, save it and restart?

They are ticked by default. When I untick and retick them, the system resumes in the Music mode which I prefer. However, when I turn the computer off and on, the eAudio Management interferes and takes the settings back to Movie with the surround effect.

What about disabling eAudio from start-up processes? You can always manually start it "after" the system restart. See if this helps?

Yes, that was also the solution that came to my mind. However, this little green Empowering Technologies bar which includes the eAudio Management is difficult get rid of. See:
http://forum.cybernetnews.com/index.php?topic=835.0 , and
http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f84/ac...gy-bar-183454/

It is strange that not many people complain about this.

Download cCleaner, install and run it. Under Extra/tools you have "Autostart/Startup" From there you can disable entries at start-up. Go through them, you might need a combination of a few "disable". You can also re-enable the entries as needed. Remeber - disable and NOT delete.

I use Tune Up instead of CC Cleaner. In the Startup Menu, Empowering Technologies is already off. However, it still keeps on coming at the system start up. This will make me crazy.

Then you might need to review Windows services and de-activate (or set to manual) the entry from there.

Thank you once again, but what is "Windows services"?

Control Panel - Administrations - Services, I think

Thank you really for all your help. I found the Services (Application Virtualization Service Agent in Vista). As you said it is possible to stop some services there. However, not surprisingly, neither Empowering Technologies, nor eAudio Management is there.

It might not be under those names. You need to go through the entries, click on them or choose "properties". This will tell you as how the services are being called from (folder, exe ...)

I still recommend using cCleaner (free) to review all start-up processes. I don't know about Tune Up so I can't comment on it. Give it a shot, you can always remove it if nothing new comes from it.

Thanks for all your help. I will go through the start up entries. Meanwhile, I am trying to contact with Acer (losing my hope though). Have a nice day...

Edit settings for eAudio in the Windows Registry

To set the default audio mode for Acer eAudio, open the windows registry editor (Start, Run, and type REGEDIT.EXE) and edit the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\acer\eAudio

AudioMode=2
