Acer Aspire 5920G Bluetooth Jumbles up my Words

Hey guys,

I have the laptop above and I just saw the bluetooth switch (on the left of the keyboard was on) and now it's messing up my words. I have to type slow in order to avoid getting extra letters in my words or random caps lock. I'll type the same paragraph but in my normal speed I type in.

I have the laptop above ands I just saw the bluetooth switch (ON THE LEFT OF THE KEYBOARDS WAS ON) and now it's messingd up my wordss. I hgdave to type slow in order to avoid gdettingd extra letters in my wordss or randosmh caps lock.

I'm not mistyping the words... so yeah.

I've tried to disable it by many ways. Restarting hasn't helped, neither has pressing the button. System restore failed too. Control panel has the bluetooth device but nothing in there to disable it. And I've tried searching online, but nothing...

Any help?

Is there any reason why you believe the Bluethroat is what is causing this problem. I have never heard of Bluethroat causing this problem, but have known problems like this to occur because of viri, malware etc.
Do you run an up to date antivirus program, if so what?? do you scan for any malware(spyware) if so using what??

Yes, well, ever since it's been on, it's been giving me problems.

The button is on (left side of my keyboard, lights on) and some letter combinations just add extra letters. Like ing adds 'ingd' and 'com' becomes 'comhg' and comes becomes 'comhges'.

Also, when I press right shift + one of the numbers, it starts typing in caps. For instance, if I want to add a symbol (LIKE NOW, IT'S IN CAPS) but it ends once i do it again.

What about my questions regarding an AV and malware program???

My bad. I have Symantec Endpoint Protection. It's always on, so I don't know if something got through. I have Malware's whatever. I ran both for a good while, but stopped it short of completion cause I had stuff to do on my computer (study)

I think this happened when I had a windows update. I'm not sure. I can't find any sort of bluetooth anywhere in Device manager and stuff like that. I think it's supposed to be 'Belkin Bluetooth' something, but it's no where to be found.

Its curious since I do right shift + any key, it turns caps lock on. But I don't know what's wrong -.-

I would lay odds on a virus or other nasty rather than Bluetooth. Tonight after you finish studying, go here to Bitdefender http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html and do an online virus scan. Just to verify no virus go thru. When that is done, if you dont have it, download, install, open, then update Malwarebytes (Free version). Then let is do a full scan before you go to bed. It will be done by morning and all should be fine.
Let me know tomorrow if the virus scan and Malwarebytes scan found anything. You cant stops these part way thru and hope to get anything. They dont work unless they go the full distance

I just did the BitDefender quick scan and it found no infections.

I updated Malwarebytes and I'll run it later tonight when I go to sleep. I guess I'll run my ant-virus scan too.

Thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated!

Update

Just did the Malwarebytes' scan and it founds no infections. I'll do the anti-virus today too... but I'm pretty sure it'll find nothing.

Do you have access to a desktop usb keyboard. if so, plug it in your laptop and see if the random characters still occur. If not, could very well be a contact problem between keyboard and mainboard of laptop.
Is there an icon in the system tray for bluetooth....bunch of little icons near the clock.should look like this
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/no...4000faq5.shtml

If so, right click on it and there should be an option to disable. Let us know if any of these suggestions work

Well I don't have the icon in the bottom right. Also, I don't have a usb keyboard. I'll be going home in a week and I could try on then, but I would like the problem fixed asap. It's killing me just having a conversation with people...

Any idea if I can regedit this problem? I also searched some folders and found Acer VCM has some bluetooth files in there, but they don't seem that relevant..?

Sorry for the double post.

I reformatted recently and I still have the same problem. Anyone know what I can do?

Take Saugen's advice and test it first with an external USB keyboard to help determining that this is a hardware issue (or not). You said you don't have one, try to book for one and/or borrow it.

cheers ...
