Recently, Engadget noticed that Dell had launched a new series of notebooks, and now they have confirmed that these notebooks will feature AMD's first mobile quad-core processors as well as a previously unannounced ATI Mobility Radeon video card called the 550V.
Intel has had quad-core CPUs for a couple years now, so we shall see if AMD has used their extra time to produce a better product. According to rumors in Wikipedia, some of AMD's mobile quads will run at a lower TPD than Intel's, which may allow them to be in smaller and thinner notebooks.
The addition of quad-core CPUs to AMD's mobile lineup should increase competition between them and Intel and will hopefully speed up future product development and help ensure reasonable prices.

Should be interesting to see what intel does in response to this.
