So the BIOS update blew the RAID configuration?

I dont really know what has happend with the HDD configuration , but I am sure it got messed up!
I guess the update blew my ATA configuration and not the RAID, because if I remember correctly my HDD configuration was set to ATA before updating. And after updating the ATA isnt working while the RAID is!

it looks this laptop is a spacejunk from outerspace thanks to dell somehow they forgot how to disign a gaming laptop...
past week was really exiting for me got a new system board 2 weeks ago aprox... and in the beginning of the last week i had another1 just for fun... at the moment is keep flashing different colors all around and looking good. wth out any cc installed and all set to red cc say "there is a problem with the alien fx board" middle of the week i got a sli gtx260 sett long story...laptop still not working as it should be.last time i been told they send someone to have a look at the laptop. time is droped to yesterday morning. i got the engineer 11'o clock morning and he got huge [box] with him. within another motherboard, cpu, touchpad, and 4gb memory... in that point i refused to accept everything... is just a joke. i contacted with customer relation and i been told there is no unit exchange possible, because my current laptop is already was an exchange unit to my m1730...so after tomorrow they take it away to "repair" what a hell they did until now??? my laptop seen more parts than the test-units...anyone any advice i geting enough...poping sound electric static noise and creeping components noise from inside as i load the laptop like videos games.etc jerkig mouse and 10s delay on keyboard...im i able 2 refuse the collection or the redelivery.i'am afraid soon i gonna get a relly exxpensive UFO flying across my room.took me 3 months to get my m1730 exhanged i dont want go thrught it again in that time i was middle of my MCP exam now i middle of my MCSE exam with VCP exam so i need a [working] laptop.

I guess you are right. Maybe the configuration was set to RAID.

took the 3 months to find out they dont have 8800GTX in stock and i always get calls+mail from support "Dear Mr. xyz,

At the time when you bought this machine 8800M GTX was the only option available with dell, however, now the offer has been upgraded to 9800M GTX. As 8800M GTX was shipped originally with the system to you we cannot upgrade it to any other version of video card.

We are still waiting for the part to available at the earliest and will get your system repaired as soon as its available. We appreciate your patience and cooperation on the same.

" but they were happy to provide and fit a downgrade any other verzion in my case they offered the 7800GT ???so what now .i middle of my exam and dont have time to waste again with dell to repairing and unfortunatelly for repair, only possible way is to send the whole line back to the desk and start with the blueprints.... this laptop was my 1st and last alienware product just like my m1730 my 1st and last dell....
no more comment i wish you gonna be that positive when they repairing your laptop 3 times within 2 weeks...
just by the way my lights died yesterday again and when installed cc it said "there is no alien fx board" pritty flooded design
