Ok, all thanks for you input todate. Let me re-jerk this. I was playing around with the conexant drivers and deleted two copies of the same file. At that time my headphones started working, but my speakers were working at the same time. I then rebooted and my headphones didn’t work. I uninstalled the drivers, and now my speakers work but not my headphones. My OS on C drive and my data etc is on D drive, I had down loaded the drivers to D and those are the drivers that I deleted.
I have Smart Audio software that allows me to divert the internal speakers to my headphones, but that doesn’t work!!! The software is: Codec Model CX20561, audio driver version 220.127.116.11, Smart audio 18.104.22.168
When I open the driver file details I see a file with a black square in front of it and says C:\windows\system32\driver\LVUSB64.SYS. The other files show a green check mark.
Also, according to one download site the driver has a file hash, File Hash: A29D72B41B7D01E9D3767E44E6744B01 Whatever that means.???
Don’t know what the black square means. Many hours on the internet, there seems to be a lot of problems with Conexant drivers! But no solution. Not being too smart about these things, I wonder if there is another software program I can use other than Conexant. In response to QHN, I looked on the internet for the motherboard but couldn't find, also searched for onboard sound that my computer P-7801u FX and couldn't find anything about a slot for another card. Can you provide more detail. Regards, BD
