M17x slot load BD drive problem...!!!

I have recently (3 months back) purchased a M17x...it has been working great until about two weeks back. The slot load drive just doesnt accept any CD/ DVD/ BD whatsoever. I insert the disc and it just spits the disc back out! This problem is so frustrating cuz i cannot install any games or software now...!!! I have also tried updating the drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling them, but to no avail..

If any of you people have had such an experience and found a solution to it..please do reply with your suggestions...
Thank you!

have not had this problem and not sure if anything unique to this model. Try disable/enable in BIOS?

Did you buy this from Alienware?

Slot loads are famous for these kind of issues.

If you still under warranty call dell and get it replaced.

If not then you will have to replace it, and its an involved process. but the complete tear down guides are on Dells site.

I recieve a call from Dell, the person says the technician is saying that "you are having bluetooth card problem since day 1"...I am like are u kiddin...it was technician's fault and not mine...thankfully the manager was good and he told me not to worry and the part would be replace in a few days...phew!!!

Can't blame the field technicians if they have no proper training from the start Good luck with the repair, and ask the technicians to take you out for a drink for using your system as training comp
