Look at the pretty gpu artifacts.

Your gpu has little time left to live.

Before it dies try baking it to resolve the problem. Probably a loose solder connection to the gpu thats broken from thermal stress.

^^Agreed. One can try running under Safe mode and re-install GPU driver also. Sometimes they do "act" like a failing GPU.

cheers ...

Do as qhn said and see if its happening in safe mode as well. And I've heard of driver issues causing an 'apparent' gpu failure for some reason and even affecting it during the bios boot up, even if that makes no sense, I have heard of it happening for some odd reason.

Also try baking for 10 minutes in the opposite orientation in which it usually is around 10 degrees higherish.

Hopefully that will reflow the solder correctly, and turn off the oven, open it up and let everything cool down to room temp before taking it out to try it.

hi matchbox it dose in in safe mode also so i guess the next best thing to do is bake it agian and see what happens.

not keen on paying $600.00 for a new vga card from toshiba

According to others who have tried baking, it seems to work temporarily (weeks) at best.
Rather than spending big bucks for a mainboard replacement, it would be cheaper to either check out ebay for a P100 with a damaged LCD and transfer your LCD over or to look at something new....jmho

OR just sell it once it works again. And I've heard of it fixing the problem for a long time.

Another thing you can do is send it to a repair company ironically on ebay too, and they fix and warranty their stuff. Have very delicate soldering equipment :P

Baking is fine as long as one does not "push" the GPU performance afterward. I have many baked potatoes that are still hot after a year. But then, as mentioned, stay out of the hard gaming stuffs. Office documentation is ok, so is CAD.

cheers ...
