E-SYSTEM 4215C no bios on boot

I think this laptop is made by acer but not to sure so I put it in here.

My problem is that the laptop will not boot for me, not even to the bios screen or post. On rare occasion it will boot for me! when it does I have a red line down the screen (possibly a bad GPU!)
This line is a recent anomaly and has not been around as long as the not booting problem, for this reason I don't think the two are related. Probably need to update the drivers or have a dead pixel, but know I could be wrong.

I have changed out everything (CPU, HDD, RAM etc.)
I have removed the network card.
I have checked for bad caps.
I cannot boot from any live CD.

Maybe its a bad GPU\mobo (integrated) getting progressively worse?
Maybe a corrupt Bios?

The fact that it works sometimes makes me not want to give up under the assumption it has a faulty GPU/mobo

Any thoughts or solutions would be great.

Try baking your mobo. Search the forum here for inputs as how to go about it. If that does not help I would recommend selling it for parts.

Sounds like baking it might do the trick.
I did a bit of research on this topic and have decided to proceed with the following procedures.

I am going to preheat my oven for 2 min's at 385f, or in my case 196c

I will remove all removable components from said board, e.g. CPU, RAM, heat sinks, jumpers, wires, thermal compound, plastic covers, northbridge if possible (Don't think it is).

I'm then going to place the board in a tinfoil covered tray with the board elevated and the GPU facing the roof of the oven.

I will then place the board in the 196c preheated oven for 7min's 45sec.

After this time I will turn the oven off open the door and leave the board in the oven too cool off for about 30min's.

If I have missed anything please let my know.

What I do - you don't need to go with it.

. preheat the sauna to 150C
. put in the mobo for 4 min
. turn the temp up to 240C
. 3 min
. turn the temp down to 150C
. 3 min
. turn off the oven
. open the oven door
. leave the mobo for at least 1 hour - no moving around.

Good luck

I had already attempted the bake before seeing your post qhn

I attempted per my procedures with no success.

After reassembly the laptop booted, but it would normally boot the first attempt after a complete disassembly and reassembly.
So I was not surprised when after I turned it off the problem returned.

I still think baking it could solve the problem.
I will attempt at a slightly higher tempter as I suspect the solder did not get hot enough to wet.

I wont have access to this oven again for a week or 2 (my oven has no temp markings on it) but will post back with results when I have them.
