Can I turn off HDCP on the FireGL card of my M6500?

I have an older monitor without HDCP support at mye second office, so the bloody thing won't work with a passive Displayport to DVI adapter connected to my Precision M6500. But why does it demand HDCP when I'm not using anything but regular computer programs? Or can it be something else that's the matter here? The same adapter works perfectly on the newer monitors I have at my primary office, but they are too large (24") for the setup at the second office.

Unfortunately, I think you're stuck. It might possibly work if you were using a different operating system (you could try a Linux LiveCD to try it out), but I believe Windows (Vista & 7) strictly enforces HDCP compliance.

OK, thanks. More strange stuff: I've been using a dual 24" monitor setup at my main office since I got the M6500 on the docking, with one DVI cable to the Hyundai main monitor and one VGA cable to the Benq. Today I finally got a second DVI cable and hooked them up. But since some programs doesn't respect the monitor designation in Windows (one of my work programs are like that) but only what monitor is first in the line on the graphics card, I would like the Benq to be on the docking station DVI port closest to the edge (which is the second) and the Hyundai on the one closer to the middle. But they flat out refuse to work that way! I only get an image on the Benq, and the Hyundai thinks it's getting a signal, but it doesn't show antyhing. I wonder if that can be another HDCP problem. I have tried several reboots but nothing seems to help. Any idea what that may be? The displayport adapter didn't help, it only worked on the Benq. This is really starting to annoy me!

HDCP only affects DVI & HDMI. The VGA output isn't affected, hence why the BenQ works and the Hyundai doesn't.

OK, I think I explained that one badly. My bad... Both monitors support HDCP, and the Hyundai even says "DVI HDCP Active" when it gets the signal. So I can get both monitors to work with DVI at the same time. The Benq will work in any of the two DVI's on the docking when the Hyundai is connected to the other. But the Hyundai will only work in the secondary DVI port if the Benq is connected to one DVI, so it won't work in the primary DVI port if the Benq is in the secondary. Was that a bit clearer? I'm having a rather stressing day and that tends to make my verbal skills drop a notch or two...

Edit: Got an idea. Tomorrow I'm going to dig up a DVI to HDMI adapter I know I have somewhere (my house is like Radioshack, only larger...) and try to use the HDMI input in the Hyundai. Maybe ikt accepts being in the primary port then!
