battery problem

i bought a advent 9112 notebook about 3 years ago. while i love it and i must say it gets a fair amount of use.

i was using it yesterday in the sun while it was running off its own power fine. last night when i went to power it up it did not respond to the power button. as per usual i thought the battery had died so i plugged it in to the mains for a charge. today the battery says it is fully charged but as soon as i disconnect the mains power cable the system shuts down as is i had pulled the plug from a desktop. can anybody help me or is the battery completely shot.

I would get another battery to try 1st - for sure.

Keeping a battery out in the sun can cause its life to expire very quickly, so I think it is dead too...
