Lenovo R61 - need some cpu upgrade advice

I have a Lenovo R61 with a T7100 1.8 ghz duo processor
, and I have a couple questions..

Anyone know offhand what the fastest CPU I can upgrade to?

I can handle desktop stuff, but am out of my element here, so if not specific new cpu advice, then:

1. Since I have a duo core can I upgrade to anything in the duo core line?

2. Do the bus speeds on old and new CPU have to be the same?

Thanks

I'd stick to 800mhz fsb speed, I don't think your chipset can handle much more. Care to give a cpu-z screenshot just to confirm?
According to notebook check the T7500 can go in there, but I feel like u could go higher. I'd do some research if I wasn't so tired :P just try this site for some more detailed info about your lappy.

And to 1), no you can't use ANY C2D, it needs to be the right socket and have a supported fsb from the bios and chipset in order to work.
If the chipset goes up to 800mhz, you can only stick to ones at that fsb. Having a higher fsb tends to be better anyways so I wouldn't go for a higher clocked cpu with a 667mhz fsb if I were you...don't know how many of those there are, but to be safe stick with the fsb speed the chipset supports...again cpu-z would be helpful to look up the chipset info.
stay spicy!

No problem, ask again if you've got issues, we're all about watching ppl upgrade stuff that usually isn't meant to be
