Fatal Execution Engine Error

Hey guys im getting this error on my Dell 600m as I log onto the computer. It also comes up if I click the "Dell Support" program and some times when Im just usuing the computer. It reads the following...

1st Box
"Fatal Execution Engine Error
0x7927baca"

2nd Box
Title: NotifiyAlert.exe
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled"
Processid=0xbdc(3036) THreadid=0x748(1864)

Does anyone know what could be causing this? And also, which might be a better option, Formatting the HD and starting fresh without all this dell crud thats on the computer, that might be a better option but I have no idea how to get this dell to get to the MSDOS other then by "Applications" but it says:

"Format cannot run beacuse the volume is in use by another process. Format may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPEN HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume (Y/N)"

When you say Y it says:
"Cannot lock the drive. The volume is still in use"

So if you know of what I can do that would be greatly appriciated! Thanks.

If you want to reformat reboot the computer and go into your bios and check the boot order and make sure boot from CD is before boot from HD .. Then put your Windows CD in the drive and restart the computer and it will automaticall load the setup program where you can delete the partition, format it and then load windows.

Thanks man, I booted XP from the disk, and found the area to "Delete" my partition, Formatted, re-installed XP, loaded all the drives. Now the computers quicker and shuts down in 6seconds rather then the 20-30 it use to take Hopfully nothing like this will happen again...
