Just picked up an M4400.
Came with Vista Business x86, and the "ambient light sensor" was working fine.
I installed Vista Ultimate x64 but now I can't get the "a.l.s." to work.
To be clear: it doesn't automatically work when the system boots up, I have to manually enable it each time with the "Fn" + "<-" combo.
I've installed all the latest drivers and updates -- including the "a.l.s." driver from Dell but I haven't installed all the Dell "Control Point" stuff as I was hoping to avoid any unnecessary applications or Dell OEM bloat.
BIOS is most recent and "a.l.s." is enabled in the BIOS.
Any advice on how to get it to automatically enable would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
