Vostro 3700 and WinXP

Yesterday (Fri 5/28/10) is was looking at the Vostro 3700 on-line when the pop-up asked if I wanted to ask a question to a sales droid.

I accepted the invitation and talked with some gal in the ether.

I asked if the Vostro still had the Option for Windows XP.

She said that the Vostro has XP installed on the hard drive and the Win7 DVDs are shipped with the system.

!!!!

Is this true, has anyone seen this ??

The Dell Buisness line does come with XP installed if requested.

Ok, thats not on the web site to order. So, did this gal get it right by saying that XP is installed on the drive ?? don

yes, but youusually have to request it

if nline it typically says

Windows 7 with XP

That's interesting, I wonder if it is XP virtualized within win7 pro... (Getting hold of an M$ XP licence from any supplier now is not easy)....

XP licence is selling cheap via 2nd hand market My family is dumping it on my laps to go to W7

No Dell (and IBM I believe) still offer XP Pro to buisness users since some companies can not make the switch to Vista or Win7 very easily.
