I installed Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0.0.125 on this notebook and since then the Startup Process cost about 4 minutes
My system Spec:
Dual Core T3400 (Was this processor too weak?)
2*512 MB ram
Would anyone please show me how to reduce the startup time? Thanks in advance

Do you have other antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, or security software running as well? Kaspersky is particularly finicky when there is another program running that overlaps its job. I'd advise you to uninstall or disable any other of the above types when Kaspersky is running to see if the overlap caused the slowdown.

After installing Windows XP, I installing the Laptop Drivers and Office 2002, no other antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, or security software beacuse I think Kaspersky has integrated those features into it.

Hmm, can you install and run Microsoft Bootvis? That should tell you how long each program is taking to start at boot.

Or give another antivirus app a try -- like (Free) Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Is it Kaspersky 2010 perhaps? ( I am not sure of their labelling yet).. If it is, common issue, check for upgrades, if none, uninstall and use another as ghn said....

I need a powerful Antivirus software to protect it and I thought of Kaspersky 7.0.0.125 (the one that I am using for my Acer Laptop). The laptop used to have that pair of RAM and the Startup Process cost only 45 seconds.

I used Avast, and now MSE - not sure about "powerful" but they have kept malware, spyware and virus off my comps for many years.

Some viruses may not be recognized by your current Antivirus software but they can be recognized by other software. What would you do in case of that? If MSE is the best, I'd use it to make the Startup process faster. I used to have Avira and it is higher recommended than Avast. By the way, How is T3400 Processor?
I used to do that as well, combination of Spyware Blaster, AVAST etc ... Like I said, I have no issue so far, but then again I watch where I clicked, using Firefox with built-in WOT to warn me of dangerous sites.

T3400? 2.16GHz, able to support 64-bit, dual core - good enough for almost everything.

Would you show me how to restore all the the Memory capacity of RAM? In my Acer, it recognizes 1014MB of RAM (acceptable) but in this Compaq, it only recognizes 986 MB of RAM with the same pair of RAM (I think this is the only reason that make the startup process slow). The Compaq is using the BIOS F11C and I couldn't find anywhere to adjust the onboard VGA to restore the RAM capacity.
If you don't have the option in the BIOS for VRAM, we are stuck. 986MB of available ram should not hold you down for 4+ min at start.

Other than the previous suggestions of trying another virus app, you might want to look into disabling some un-needed start up processes, turning off candy desktop utilities to speed up the boot-up process

So could you give me another BIOS version to install Windows XP (In my country, this OS is so popular that people cannot give it up, especially the one who doesn't require too much in his notebook, like me) and a specific instruction to update the BIOS? When I bought this notebook, I used to think the BIOS version which it is using (F11C) is the only version to install XP but I didn't think that it didn't have an option for onboard VGA. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

I would not think another BIOS version would help in the installation of XP, but the lack of drivers. For the VRAM issue I have yet read any other BIOS versions that would give you the option to control the ram amount on this model.

Sorry, but I CAN'T understand this. Is it you have found the solution for my situation?
No, that meant simply that I have "not" found any other BIOS that would support what you want (VRAM manipulation)

cheers ...
