Pavilion dv2535ea screen problem

Thread Starter
Hi all
When i boot the Pavilion dv2535ea Notebook the boot screen is in 6 blocks, (all working). Is this a hardware fault or is there something i can do to fix it.
I did a clean install of Vista H/P and the boot screen is in 6 blocks, (all working). Then i installed the video drivers and the screen was ok until i installed SP1 & SP2 now the problem is back again then halfway through the boot process the computer just stops at a blank screen with 2 tiny horizontal lines across it. I have to press/hold the power button to switch it off.

I have been told this is a motherboard problem but would just like to know fo sure. I have updated the bios to the latest version but the screen is still the same.

help please WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
many thanks

You can be sure by plugging in an external monitor. If this works then the problem is likely just the notebook LCD

cheers ...
