Looking for Advice/General Discussion on Broken Dell XPS M1710

I have a fully-stacked "ferrari red" XPS M1710 with blu-ray player, overclockable cpu, etc.

The problem is, this laptop is not for me, and recently the screen turned white. I took it in to a professional and they told me I may need a new motherboard, which would cost about $400. I am thinking I should probably just sell it for parts instead.

So what works on this notebook?

-All of the parts except for the motherboard (or video card perhaps)

My question is, how much is this MSRP $3,499 notebook worth now with a busted motherboard? Could I get even $500 for it? I see one on eBay similar to mine (but fully functional) going for $1,500, and they don't even have all the available options on theres. Maybe I could even get something like $650 for it??

Should I fix it or sell it?

Also, if anyone is interested in buying it, you can send me a PM.

Well put an ad in the classifieds and see who bites. What its "worth" is hard to say.

I would be selling it on eBay not locally.

Then see what they sell for on ebay... ebay price is not equal to forum.
