Hi
I am in the process of re-installing Vista Home Premium on a friends Vaio, I have formatted the drive and re-installed windows yesterday. The Vaio was working fine for a good few hours while testing and re-installing other software and I have gone to turn it on this morning to finish the last bits off and its just saying "operating system not found", the vaio screen is coming up then the OS not found.
I have tried to re-boot from the Vista DVD but nothing happens, I have just inserted an XP Pro disc to boot off and it has done no problem, how ever, once it has got passed the initial part of loading the files it then ask's what you want to do, repair, install etc. When I choose install or repair it says "Setup did not find any hard disks installed on your computer, make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer supplied diagnostic or setup program. Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3"
Any idea's why this has happened, nothing has happened to the Vaio since last night, well something has but you know what I mean, I haven't even moved it from turning it off, so nay idea's, advice etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
