dell 1520 lcd brightness not very bright

so i have a problem with a dell 1520 im working on
laptop was dropped and screen was smashed

new lcd was put in and the screen does not go as bright as it should. if you set it in the bios to a lower setting(think it was 6 it gets bright)

ive changed the invertor already and tested the lcd on another dell laptop and it worked great. also did a bios update and still same thing. when you close the laptop it shuts off so the switch still works

thinking maybe i got a faulty invertor or something on the motherboard is damaged

laptop works great otherwise, it reconizes when the ac is removed and dims abit but just the screen isnt bright.

if you through the settings and pick the brightness in the bios... it get brigher up until 6 or 7 then its darker after that..

The inverter that you replaced is made to go with the new LCD, correct? Then I would 2nd your suspicion of a bad inverter. It is a cheap part to try.

the inverter / LCD display are set and not all are the same

if you had an exact LCD replacement the inverter should be OK,

if you LCD was a Sub then you may have to get the matching inverter or as above just try a new (Dell original)
