What game(s) would I like?

I am wondering what game to get next and don't want to waste money on something I won't like. I like FPS games but don't play multiplayer or online because I always get my ass kicked, probably because I relatively old. I would really appreciate it if you can recommend a game or two for me based on what I have liked and not liked.

Liked:
Half Life 2
Call of Duty World at War
Modern Warfare 2 (Love the solo sniper missions.)
Crysis
Far Cry 1 and 2
Vice City (Love the music and atmosphere.)
Fear

Didn't like:
San Andreas (Too much driving and don't like the music.)

Fallout 3 (Too much wandering around wondering where to go and hunting for junk. Also, the weapons seemed weak. But maybe I gave up too early. Most games get better.)

Bioshock was ok but too much wandering around and there juggernaugts were a PITA.

Here are a couple of games I am considering:
Battlefield 2 has potential but the single player is short. Supposedly it involves more strategy than Modern Warfare 2 and I might like that.

Mass Effect 2 sounds interesting but not if there is a lot of hunting around for junk and amo.

What do you think? Any suggestions? I suspect there is there a better forum to ask this and if you can't help maybe you can recommend a better forum.

Thanks in advance!

BF2 is heavily focused on multiplayer, if you want to just play single player you won't get much from it.

You're gonna LOVE Crysis 2.

You'll love Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor, MAG, Battlefield Bad Company and 2.

And Black Ops

All of the Rainbow Six Vegas games.

Thanks for the replies! I'm surprised anyone replied because it looks like this forum is just about a ghost town.

Nah, our gaming community is very small after a bunch left for another site.

Any idea why people deserted to the other forum? I think I know which one you mean and I haven't noticed that it has any advantages other than there are a lot more people there now.

I do know. But I will not speak of it. I can tell you that it's not going to be too long before it will shut down. No on posts there much anymore and I'd rather post on 1 site with my notebook love and gaming love here.

Boo!

If you mean BF2 from "those days" there are single player options and enhancements... AND mods you can do for mass single player. The original setup/maps would not allow you to play single player on full sized maps.

back in those days... I worked at TCR - a computer repair shop.. We had a lan of computers with pretty decent hardware which was pretty much centered around 1942/BF2 and counter strike. There was a small group of firefighters that would come in an team up and we'd have some pretty great battles. I was a helicopter junkie.

Never played single player.

GNandGS, by "Those days" do you mean the first Battlefield 2? I've already done that to death. Now I am looking for a good newish FPS but it seems the emphasis is on multiplayer on most of the best newer games.

Ha! yes dst. I dont have any suggestions though as Im not really doing any gaming now. Last I did BF2 was new and current. When not having trouble/error that game was good fun - we had several multiplayer sessions... but I also enjoyed it in single mode.
