what is the easiest way to convert mpeg to a dvd? burning it to a dvd does not work because it does not convert the file format to something that the dvd can recognize for some reason....

You want it to play in DVD players? Or you just want to put an mpeg file on a DVD?

i want to be able to watch the file on a dvd

So you don't need to convert anything. Just burn the file to the DVD using any DVD writer software. Nero or Alcohol 120

You could not copy the mpeg files over to dvd? It is just another storage medium. How did you copy and move the files? Some screen shots?
