Sound crackles - Acer Notebook 7738g

hope anyone here can help, because this is about to drive me crazy!

Whenever i use spotify or itunes on my computer, the sound crackle (for some reason i cant notice anything when im watching movies in WMP,myspace music or youtube). Wheater i use headphones, line out, or the speakers on my laptop, the problem is the same. a crackling sound almost constantly through the songs..

as spotify is my main source of music this is really frustrating.

anyway i tried a bunch of driver updates with no luck incl the newest i can find. (somewhat randomly selected, so maybe i havent tried the right one). also tried running as little as possible just to see if that helps even if the laptop is pretty new...

i turned on and of any sound enhancements, improvement and sorts but no luck.

Dunno if it has anything to do with windows7?

Any ideas or fixes for this? anyone experienced or heard of the same?

If you try with something other than Spotify, would the crackle go away?

it depends...if i use itunes, it crackles.

but when i watch movies in Win.media player it doesnt seem to crackle. and if i watch music videos/videos in youtube there's no crackle either...

right now i run with a driver dated 13.07-09 (ver. 6.1.7600.16385) if thats what you meant?

if you mean something else, just tell me where to find it

Codec - I use this.

Have you checked and see if Acer has a new audio driver also?

think i had that codec too, but anyway i installed it again.. but no change..

tried the driver from the acer page, but it was from 2009 aswell, and was a bit worse than what i had, so i guess ill go back to what i had there...

it seems however that its a little less crackle when i minimize the program and run it in the background, and a few very rare times ive been running with no crackle at all, but the next day its back even if i dont run any other programs

My last try would be to reinstall the notebook clean. If the sound still crackles then it is probably a hardware issue.
