My Toshiba Satego X200-21 U (17") has a heating problem even with a cooling pad

Hello ,

I like to play games on my laptop. The probelm is, its getting really, really hot on the left side. You almost burn your hand. I decided to buy a cooling pad, CoolerMaster NotePAL W2. I was testing it today, and it is still way too hot on the left side and towards the middle.

I have three pictures here:

1. My keyboard, the red "cirlces" indicate where it is too hot.

2. My laptop's bottom side.

3. My cooling pad.

Do you think I am doing something wrong, or is it the wrong cooling pad? Or is the laptop just not suitable for playing games?

Is this always happening? From day one? Try blowing out the vent?

I don't know about day one. The laptop is now over two years old and my mother has given it to me like 4 months ago. Since she has never played any games I don't know.

Perhaps the cooler is not strong enough? Or I need to buy a different one? While playing the game my GPU goes up to 190- 200 F. Some peopel say that's too much.

Blowing out the vent? I should do this somestime soon.

2 years plus notebooks are candidates for a good internal clean up - dusting and applying new thermal paste to the CPU and GPU where applicable.
