Go for it I would say though I am much more of a Nikon person than a Canon. But my sister never uses anything else but Canon.

I'm on the phone with Dell negotiating for a EOS 550D right now. I told them I wanted 10% off plus next day free shipping and they told me no. When I told them I will just go buy at Fry's electronics then they told me to hold and they will talk with a supervisor.

Edit: Ok it's bought. I also bought 2 year accidental coverage. Price was just under $1K (includes 1 lens) which is the limit I set.

I bought a battery grip and 2 8GB Class 10 SDHC cards. I figured that's a good start.

Well my 550D is going back to Dell and I now have a 7D on order with B&H. Plus I ordered a new L lense from digitalrev.com. Maybe I should go into professional photography.
