Please help - m5500 bios v2.06 required

Hi, please can somebody help me with my Alienware m5500. I need to get hold of v2.06 bios to get it to accept an nVidia geforce 8600 video card. I have found a link posted on a previous thread but it now says that the file is missing or deleted. It's not the same as the m5550 v2.06 bios as I've already tried that. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks for the quick reply but this is the m5550 bios that I've already tried without success. I'm looking for the m5500 v2.06 bios...

That would be tough. As I understood 2.06 had a "problem" that this "w" fixed. What is the current BIOS version (other than this 2.06W) that you are using?

Currently got the m5550 v2.06W that's posted above, but when I try to install the drivers for the Geforce 8600 it says that it doesn't recognize any hardware for the install. All this trouble just because you can't get hold of the Geforce 7600 anymore. Maybe I'll just have to keep sending my old 7600 card for "Permanent repair" every 3 months :-)

I am still looking for 2.06 at the moment. Hoping that some members still have it somewhere.

Yep that's exactly what I need. Trouble is that I've bought 2 used cards so far and with my original that makes 3 all with the same fault. I keep sending them to Germany for repair but at best I only get 3 months use before they fail again. At £70 a time for repair it's starting to hurt. Anyhow, many thanks for your help, it's much appreciated...
