In an interview with Enterbrain, Kojima revealed that he is at a crossroads as to what his next project is going to be, and Metal Gear Solid 5 is one of the options. "For the next game I make, it's either MGS 5 or an original game. I only have these two choices."

After dismissing the possibility of a new Z.O.E., Kojima contradicted himself when describing this new venture. "The next project is amazing. The plan is pretty much solidified. Although recently, it has wavered a bit." Kojima described how he got back from E3 and began to re-think what he wanted this next title to be. "I'm not sure myself, but I began to want to do something different from what I'd wanted to do originally."

Kojima did say that preliminary work has begun on this new game, and that he knows that it can't take forever to come out.

Yes please

Weird how it says "PC"

According to a translation from andriasang, the job posting is for positions covering level design, 3D character modeling, and "people who are interested in conducting research into next generation CG." It also specifies that programmers with experience on PC/PS3/Xbox 360 are desired.

It's possible that this is just the studio staffing up to get Rising out the door, but the fact that the job posting says "next generation Metal Gear Solid series production staff" makes it sound like more than a single title.

Konami held a party in Japan today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear franchise, and took the opportunity to announce the future of the series. Based on some sparse reporting, it appears that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be an open world title using the recently teased Fox Engine. It may or may not be the Project Ogre title Kojima Productions has been working on since MGS4 wrapped almost four years back.

So what is Ground Zeroes? Is it MGS5, or something different? Eagle eyed fans have noticed that the Snake seen in the image may have an eye patch, which could mean this is Big Boss rather than Solid Snake. Kojima has mentioned that he'd like to do a game with Big Boss involved in the invasion of Normandy, but the tech shown here is too advanced for WWII. Some are even taking the name to mean it's a remake/re-imagining of the original Metal Gear. Whatever the case, reports of the short video shown called it "spectacular" looking. Expect a more formal reveal of Ground Zeroes soon.
