HP f2096 Troubleshooting Info?

Thread Starter
I've got an old HP Omnibook 500 that I'd like to use for a music server system. Computer runs off the power supply when plugged into it. So I know those 2 pieces are OK. But the f2096B dock for it is electrically dead when the power supply is plugged into it. There's a small LCD display on the front that doesn't light up. The computer doesn't get any juice when in the dock. Its almost as if there's a fuse somewhere in the dock that blown. But I don't see anything that looks like a fuse inside the dock.

Does anyone know where I could find repair info or schematics for this dock?

Or does anybody have any troubleshooting suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy

Take it apart and see... You may need some t4,t5 and t6 star screw drivers, being an HP... The dock won't have a fuse as such, most likely the power jack on the docks motherboard has broken and may need replacing....
