External Monitor with M17x

Could someone direct me to detailed instructions for setting up an external monitor with my M17x to be operated with the
LID CLOSED?

Just plug in the external and toggle it to use the external only. Go into power management and select "do nothing when lid closes" and you are set.

You can also disable the integrated display in CCC when both are connected. That way the integrated display is only on when not connected to an external display.
